Intro to Music Technology

In this course, students will explore the fundamentals of music technology as they pertain to tracking, mixing, performance, producing/composing, and managing/storing sessions. Students will survey a broad variety of technologies that can be used to create, document, and communicate music. By studying the fundamentals of music technologies, application and historical coordinates, students will gain a more thorough understanding of their role in the music industry and how they can use these as tools to expand upon their artistic voice/creative practice. The topics introduced will include digital audio, recording technologies, MIDI/OSC, sequencing, sampling, synthesis, and more.
